Manchester United face Crystal Palace in their first Carabao Cup fixture of the season tonight. Erik ten Hag is expected to hand this signing his full debut.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has already some lineup decisions ahead of his game against Crystal Palace tonight. We already know that the Dutch manager likes to field a strong lineup in the cup games, so we have had a go at our predicted lineup.

One player who we predicted to make the start in this match was Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan midfielder who was signed from Fiorentina in the summer made his debut against Burnley at the weekend as a sub. However, he still awaits his full debut as a starter. I assumed that since he was used as a sub at the weekend, Erik ten Hag had Amrabat in mind to start against Crystal Palace.

Indeed, the Evening Standard shares the same thought. They have reported that new signing Sofyan Amrabat is “expected” to start against Crystal Palace tonight.

The midfielder was brought in for a reason. He does not want to be a bench warmer under Erik ten Hag and he hopes that a start tonight can convince his manager that he should be playing in the first team.

Of course, United have a good experience in cup competitions. They have become quite the masters of cup competitions in recent seasons and they hope to continue this good form this season.

Do you think Sofyan Amrabat will start for Manchester United in their Carabao Cup fixture against Crystal Palace tonight?
