As Erik ten Hag prepares to host Roy Hodgson in their first Carabao Cup fixture of the season, here’s the Manchester United predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace.

Manchester United predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace

Starting off between the sticks, it will be Andre Onana. He’ll hope for a clean sheet since picking up two on the bounce will definitely help his confidence. He’ll be covered by a centre back partnership of Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans (who impressed in his most recent fixture). As noted, Ten Hag aims for a clean sheet in this match, hence the exclusion of Harry Maguire in this lineup.

At right back, Diogo Dalot will retain his place in the starting lineup, alongside Sergio Reguilon who should be fit for this match after he was subbed off against Burnley at the weekend. That caps off an unchanged back four and goalkeeper, since we know Ten Hag fields a strong lineup in cup competitions.

Scott McTominay will start in this match, just as he did at the weekend. The sub appearance for Sofyan Amrabat should transpire into a start in this Carabao Cup fixture, affording the workhorse Casemiro some valuable rest. For the second change to the lineup, I expect Christian Eriksen to take the place of youngster Hannibal Mejbri, affording him some rest.

Facundo Pellistri will take the place of Bruno Fernandes at right wing, with the captain being rested in this match. On the left-wing, it will be Alejandro Garnacho instead of Marcus Rashford and I don’t think there will be a change to the striker choice, since Rasmus Hojlund is set to be given another chance by Erik ten Hag.
