Manchester United could return to sign Brentford’s “best player” in January
By Kian Long
Manchester United are weighing up a move to sign Brentford’s best player. Erik ten Hag attempted to sign him in the summer, but failed.
Manchester United had a great summer. Or so it was thought at the time, as they signed some excellent names in all the right positions. However, as the season has started, it doesn’t look like the players have acclimatised to their new surroundings yet, as the only signing who has genuinely impressed is Sergio Reguilon, which isn’t a surprise since he has Premier League experience.
With that in mind, Manchester United may adapt their transfer strategy for the January transfer window. Some early shouts are already being made, but only Erik ten Hag will know his transfer strategy. One rumour which does seem to bode well is the signing of Rico Henry.
Manchester United could re-attempt Rico Henry signing in January
According to a report from Football Insider (via 90min), Manchester United are weighing up the possibility of re-attempting to sign Rico Henry from Brentford. Erik ten Hag originally attempted to sign the England international in summer but failed.
Rico Henry is currently sidelined through injury for the remainder of the season. It was an unfortunate blow for the creative full-back against Newcastle. This could mean the Bees will look to sign a new full back in January, leaving the opportunity open for United to sign Henry.
If the price is right, then Brentford would definitely be inclined to sell Henry. After all, he’s not likely to appear for Thomas Frank for the rest of the season.
Do you think Manchester United will sign Rico Henry from Brentford?
