Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly considering an inhouse agreement for a full-back who has been “impressive” since joining.

Manchester United have not had the best start to this Premier League campaign. However, after they scraped a win in their last match, Erik ten Hag hopes that this can inspire his team to go on a win streak.

Although they haven’t had the best start to the season, there is one player who is a beacon of positivity for Manchester United fans and it’s someone they didn’t expect to be. That’s right, Sergio Reguilon, who is on loan at Old Trafford from Spurs, has really impressed since he was a late summer signing.

Intended to provide backup to the injured Luke Shaw, he’s really making a claim to Erik ten Hag that he should be the starting full-back in this Manchester United team. He played well against Brighton and Bayern Munich, showing real signs of class.

Manchester United consider a permanent deal for Sergio Reguilon

According to a new report from AS (via 90min), Sergio Reguilon is one player who has really impressed Erik ten Hag this season. So much so that the Dutch manager is contemplating signing the Spurs full-back on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur.

From Spurs’ perspective, they may be inclined to say yes to this deal. After all, Ange Postecoglou seems to be doing well with his current crop of players. Particularly when you consider their summer signings, Reguilon returning from his loan may be surplus to their requirements.

From the player’s perspective, he will want guaranteed first team football. If Spurs have a greater chance to satisfy this demand, then he may be opposed to the permanent deal. However, as things stand, it looks like he’d be more needed at Old Trafford.

Do you think Manchester United will sign Sergio Reguilon?
