In today’s Arsenal injury news – There is suddenly hope for Arsenal fans involving Gabriel Martinelli, an update on Thomas Partey & more.

Arsenal injury news – Mikel Arteta provides hope for Gabriel Martinelli

Ahead of the important North London derby tomorrow, Mikel Arteta has provided a positive update on Gabriel Martinelli, refusing to rule out the electric Brazilian, Arteta has claimed he is still being assessed ahead of the game, so it’s a race against time for him essentially.

"“With Gabi we are still assessing him,So let’s see if he can make the game or not.” – Mikel Arteta on Gabriel Martinelli (via the Arsenal media team)"

Martinelli was subbed off against Everton in the previous Premier League match and as a result, was not featured in the Champions League squad in midweek. As a player who likes playing against Spurs, he’ll hope more than anything to be ready for this key fixture.

Arsenal injury news – Thomas Partey is confirmed to be out

Not that there was much hope in the Ghanaian midfielder returning for this fixture, Mikel Arteta has confirmed there’s been no miracle. Speaking to the Arsenal media again, Arteta confirmed that Partey wouldn’t play a part in the North London derby.

"“Thomas for sure is out.” – Mikel Arteta on Thomas Partey (via the Arsenal media team)"

Last season, he scored an absolute rocket against Spurs and a contender for goal of the season. He’ll be hoping that Declan Rice replicates that this time round.

Arsenal injury news – Jurrien Timber is still out injured

It goes without saying, but Jurrien Timber is also unavailable in this match. The versatile defender who was signed in the summer is expected to be out for a significant amount of time.
