As Mikel Arteta prepares to host Ange Postecoglou for the first time, his lineup will be important. Here’s the Arsenal predicted lineup vs Spurs.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Spurs

Starting off with the juiciest pick – Which goalkeeper will Mikel Arteta start? Well, I must admit that all the signs point to David Raya. He has started the previous two games for the Gunners and kept two clean sheets. He’s done everything he can to earn a start in this match, which is guttering for Aaron Ramsdale.

Thankfully, his two centre backs remained fit in that Champions League fixture. Therefore, the new goalkeeper will be covered by the solid defensive partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel. Out on the right, it will be Ben White whose attacking play is key to Mikel Arteta. Off the left it will be Oleksandr Zinchenko, who essentially plays as a midfielder when the game is under Arsenal’s control.

Declan Rice was subbed off when the game was essentially won in midweek. Therefore, it’s likely that Mikel Arteta plans a start for him. The obvious choice is the captain Martin Odegaard, but who he partners remains a mystery. In fairness, I would keep the unchanged midfield and play Kai Havertz who I thought played excellently in midweek.

To cap off the unchanged eleven, it will be an unchanged front three. With no need to drop any plays, I think Arteta will look at the Brentford fixture in the cup in midweek as a chance to rotate his squad. Therefore, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard all retain their places in the front three after a goal from each of them in the Champions League.
