Manchester United identify their Erik ten Hag replacement

Manchester United have already identified Erik ten Hag’s replacement, should they feel need to part ways with the Dutchman. That’s according to the Dutch outlet 1908.nl, who claim that current Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, is a “shoo-in” replacement for Erik ten Hag.

Certainly, United aren’t in dire straits right now about needing a new manager. However, given their woeful start to the season, it’s understandable that they are considering options. Ten Hag clearly has the passion and the drive, but with multiple players falling out with him and him blaming everybody except himself, question marks must be raised about if he’s the man to manage at Old Trafford.

I won’t bore everybody by speaking about United’s past. Everybody knows about their glory days under Sir Alex Ferguson. Particularly me as a neutral fan, who used to dread playing against the team forged by Sir Alex. But looking ahead to today’s age, it’s a much different club.

Despite spending copious amounts of money and having higher quality names in the team than Sir Alex did, Ten Hag is performing much worse. But it’s through no fault of his own. After all, he is the second best manager that United have had post-Ferguson.

The truth is, the club is toxic from the top-down. Of course, there’s the impending sale of the club, which will hopefully help the club to return to its former glory when its completed. But until then, the Red Devils can’t continue down the vicious cycle of firing managers without them redeeming themselves. Leave that to Chelsea.

Do you think Manchester United should part ways with Erik ten Hag?
