Manchester United aren’t in a great place right now. While their results at the start of the season haven’t been awful, their ongoings off the field have been. In the last week alone, there’s been a fallout between Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho which is never good. There’s also the situation of Antony and his assault allegations to deal with as his employer.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will speak with Jadon Sancho today
In the case of Sancho, which is the footballing matter which Erik ten Hag is in the best place to deal with, there is expected to be movement. That’s right, according to Telegraph, the Manchester United boss is set to speak with Jadon Sancho for the first time since the player released his statement today.
For those who have been living under a rock, Jadon Sancho wasn’t pleased to be left out of the squad against Arsenal. Therefore, he released a statement which said from his perspective, he’s done enough to earn a spot in the squad, despite Ten Hag essentially calling him lazy.
In the dialogue which will take place today, the two have their chance to air dirty laundry. They can both openly discuss the situation which has occurred and blown out of proportion in the last week.
Truthfully, I side with Erik ten Hag on this one. Although the decision looks bad in hindsight because Man United lost the match, the result wouldn’t have been different with Jadon Sancho on the pitch. I say this as a neutral fan, but clubs don’t fear the England international since he lacks end product.
But regardless of personal opinion, the conversation which will happen behind closed doors will hopefully result in the right outcome for all parties.
Do you think Erik ten Hag was right to drop Jadon Sancho against Arsenal?
