This transfer for most of Europe is now closed, but that does not mean the potential signings won’t stop. It just means deals will not be made official until the beginning of January, when the winter transfer window opens. Tottenham Hotspur was busy bringing in players for Ange Postecoglou this summer while also dealing with the outgoing of star striker Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. It is too early to predict what their big January transfer plans will be, given we are only weeks into the Premier League season. Nonetheless, Tottenham looks to have secured a top talent who is likely to be officially transferred to the club in 2024.

Tottenham Hotspur wins the race to sign highly coveted Luka Vuskovic

Fabrizio Romano has given it a ‘here we go,’ Hajduk Split’s Luka Vuskovic will join Tottenham Hotspur as they have fended off competition from other clubs for the Croatian’s signature. Romano also says that Vuskovic wanted to join Spurs over other interested clubs. The likes of Manchester City and Newcastle had been eyeing up the player and a host of clubs from across Europe. Vuskovic, is only 16 years old, having been born in 2007.

He’s already made eight senior appearances in the top flight of Croatia’s domestic league with Hajduk Split. He has yet to get minutes so far this season but has been on the bench for the club. He suffered a muscle injury late last season, which could be affecting his return to play with Split. Vuskovic currently has only played as high as the under-17 level for Croatia, but it would be surprising if, in the near future, he steps up to the national team’s under-18 setup.

For Tottenham, the player is obviously a long-term investment given he is likely multiple seasons away from potentially being a contributed at the Premier League level. Regardless, he is regarded as one of the best talents in world football for his age group, especially for under-17 defenders. It is realistic to predict that Tottenham may sign the player and then loan him back to Hajduk Split for the rest of the 23/24 season so the player can continue to grow at a level he is familiar with.
