It’s been a positive transfer window for Arsenal. So much so, that fans may have forgotten that today is transfer deadline day. In truth, Mikel Arteta adopted the best approach by operating his business early, which gave his new signings time to adjust and play pre-season before commencing in the Premier League.
However, regardless of their incomings, there are still some fringe players who must have their futures decided. We reported earlier that Rob Holding was due to join Crystal Palace permanently. Well, he’s not the only player who Mikel Arteta could lose today.
Arsenal are happy to loan out Albert Sambi Lokonga to Luton Town
That’s right, according to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are “happy to accept” Albert Sambi Lokonga going on loan to Premier League side Luton Town. This means that discussions are now ongoing on the player side, in a move which would be beneficial for him.

In truth, Lokonga is not ready to play for Arsenal. However, he is close. Further, Mikel Arteta must see something in him to keep loaning him out rather than selling him permanently. Certainly, there is potential for Lokonga to be a starter for Arsenal, just not right now.
Particularly when you consider the new midfield signings Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, it doesn’t look good for Lokonga in the current pecking order. However, if he proves he’s ready to fight for his place during the loan spell at Luton Town, then what’s stopping him?
