Manchester United were looking for a defender in the transfer market even before the market opened. At first, rumours came out that they wanted Kim Min-Jae from Napoli, who went to Bayern. Apart from that, Jean-Clair Todibo and Benjamin Pavard were also linked with United.

But, there was one condition: Harry Maguire must leave the club. He has become an afterthought. Even though England manager Gareth Southgate claimed that he won’t pick Maguire unless he gets game time for United, surely he will be picked again for England ahead of their international fixtures.

Harry Maguire is not getting into this Manchester United side. For that, either Martinez or Lindelof needs to be injured along with Varane. So, even after Varane’s injury, Harry Maguire is not the defender who could be making a comeback at Manchester United.

Jonny Evans can return for a year at Manchester United

There is no question that the transfer window didn’t go to plan for Manchester United, mainly due to their inability to sell players. One of the biggest examples of that is Harry Maguire. That is why Man Utd cannot even buy a centre-back.

However, Erik ten Hag’s wish to buy a centre-back could be fulfilled if he decides to sign Jonny Evans for one more year at Manchester United. Yes, Evans signed for United during the pre-season for a month, and now, Man United could make that move permanent for a year.

It shows the lack of competency from Richard Arnold and John Murtough. They failed to deliver what Ten Hag needed, and now, he has to supplement that with Jonny Evans. However, Man Utd fans will welcome him back because he is a United great and a Premier League winner under Sir Alex Ferguson.

So, Man United fans, do you want Jonny Evans back at Manchester United? Let us know in the comments!
