West Ham United have been busy in the transfer windows over the last days. Before the window closes this week, David Moyes has been hard at work polishing up some new deals, announcing perhaps their best of the summer so far in Mohammed Kudus just recently.

However, we know that the aim for the remainder of the window is to sign a striker. Particulrly, sign a striker who can keep up with some of the big hitters in the Premier League. While the Hammers didn’t have the budget to go and sign a top European talent, they have turned to Brazil to snatch one of their finest youngsters.

West Ham sign Yuri Alberto from Corinthians

According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, West Ham United have secured the deal for the young Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto. The 22-year-old is expected to already have signed for the Hammers, with an announcement expected to be made today.

In 2022/23, Yuri Alberto scored 10 goals and provided seven assists. While it was in the league quite a few levels below the standard of the Premier League, it shows what his attributes are. He’s a well-rounded striker who can not only finish his chances, but create them for his teammates too. Potentially losing Lucas Paqueta this season, the incoming versatility is needed.

West Ham have had a nearly perfect start to the Premier League season, winning two and drawing one of their opening three matches. They sit in second, just behind champions Manchester City. While David Moyes won’t be getting excited as it’s still early days, it’s better to start like this to give yourself something to build on.

Do you think West Ham United have made a good signing in Yuri Alberto?
