West Ham United have had many departures to deal with this summer. Although they have replaced Declan Rice already by signing Edson Alvarez, they could be due a replacement for their star attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

The Brazilian is linked with a move to Manchester City. However, that deal is currently on loan as Paqueta is involved in investigations over potential betting breeches. If those investigations are cleared quickly enough, City will resume their pursuit. If they are not, then Paqueta risks missing a large chunk of football.

You could say that no matter the result, it’s not good for West Ham and either way, they should consider bringing in a new attacking midfielder. Well, that’s exactly what David Moyes is doing and has even been as active as making bids.

West Ham United face REJECTION for Mohammed Kudus

According to the trusted source David Ornstein of The Athletic, their opening bid for Mohammed Kudus of Ajax has been REJECTED. The article does not state how much the bid was but given that Brighton had an agreement to sign Kudus for around €40m, we can assume a similar fee for West Ham.

Kudus is an excellent player and I would even argue he might be an upgrade on Paqueta. The Ghanaian international is one of those players who looks comfortable no matter where he is on the pitch, but to get the best out of him, he is best suited as an attacking midfielder. Possessing great dribbling ability and a wide range of passing, he would replace Paqueta well.

Do you think West Ham will sign Mohammed Kudus?
