Brighton: De Zerbi aims to sign 23-year-old Arsenal talent on a loan deal
By Kian Long
Brighton and Hove Albion have been involved in many transfer talks with Arsenal in previous seasons. The two deals which have occurred, though, have been positive ones. Both Leandro Trossard and Ben White, who made the switch from the South Coast to the capital, have enjoyed their times under Mikel Arteta since signing.
Brighton turn attention to Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga
But now, Brighton wants to get their overdue return. According to a recent claim from talkSPORT correspondent Alex Crook, the Seagulls have switched their attention to the loan signing of midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga. It’s thought that an initial loan is being eyed by Roberto De Zerbi after talks collapsed for Carlos Baleba.
Albert Sambi Lokonga is a talented player, this is why Arsenal invested in him. However, he seems to be struggling to adjust to how Arsenal play their football. Certainly, he doesn’t look to be in contention under the boss Arteta.
Therefore, a loan move would benefit all parties. Signing a midfielder seems to be the position of priority for Brighton. After losing Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, the Seagulls can invest some of this money into a new midfield signing, while saving money for the short-term by taking Lokonga on loan. It’s essentially risk free.
Brighton has started the season incredibly well, with two wins by big margins. They currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, but Roberto De Zerbi is always hungry to achieve more. Therefore, the activity in the transfer window is understood.
Do you think Albert Sambi Lokonga will be a success at Brighton and Hove Albion?
