West Ham United have increased their efforts to sign some more players in recent weeks. Ideally, they need to bring in more additions given the loss of some big players and the fact that they will rely on squad rotation for the Europa League campaign this season. Oh, and the time limit being sparse might kick David Moyes up the backside, too.

There is still an element of uncertainty at the club as to whether Lucas Paqueta will leave. What we do know is that Manchester City are interested, however, they’re unlikely to push for a move until the investigation involving his betting breaches is concluded. Either way, it’s a sticky situation for the Hammers.

Therefore, understandably, Moyes has opted for the safest route and is seeking more options in the attack. Yesterday, we reported that Ajax had rejected their opening bid for Mohammed Kudus – the latest on that is that the two clubs are still struggling to reach an agreement, according to the Guardian.

West Ham United face another rejection – This time for Jeremy Doku

Unfortunately for fans, it seems to be one rejection after another, as today I have to report another West Ham bid being turned down. According to Foot Mercato, Rennes have rejected a bid for their 21-year-old winger Jeremy Doku. The Belgian is also attracting interest from, you guessed it, Manchester City.

Doku would be an excellent addition for West Ham. He is rapid and has a high footballing intelligence.

The good news for fans, though, is Paqueta seems committed to playing for West Ham. Although he has the investigation and links away from the club in the background, these are the jobs of his agent and team. He just continues to play and even scored against Chelsea yesterday.

Who do you think West Ham United will sign next?
