Leeds United have suffered relegation and have seen a massive exodus of players from their squad. While the exits have slowed down, they haven’t stopped. One of the next names that could leave the door at Elland Road after Tyler Adams to Chelsea is Wilfried Gnonto. The Italian international is subject to strong interest from Premier League side Everton and reportedly wants to leave Leeds as soon as possible.

Everton wants to sign Wilfried Gnonto, who is forcing a move away from Leeds United

Fabrizio Romano reports that Wilfried Gnonto “wants” Everton and has been pushing for a move to the Toffees since July. It is considered a priority for the winger to commence a move away from Leeds United. Gnonto was left out of Leeds’ Carabao Cup match against Shrewsbury Town, with reports suggesting Gnonto is adamant about a transfer. The Top Flight covered the news a couple of weeks when it first broke that Everton had interest in Wilfried Gnonto.

The Athletic report that Daniel Farke still sees Gnonto as a part of the Leeds squad, and he has trained with the club after his recent absence. There’s nothing that suggests Gnonto will miss Leeds’ next match in the Championship against Birmingham City.

Gnonto joined Leeds United last summer from Swiss side FC Zurich and had a very respectable season as a teenager in the Premier League. Relegation was always going to see Gnonto earn some interest from teams above, and now a move to Everton looks well on the cards.

Seen as a speedy winger with good dribbling, Gnonto can provide something a little different for Sean Dyche that he really doesn’t have in his attack at the moment. With still four years left on his contract, Leeds United will likely command a big fee from Everton, even if the player is pushing for a move.
