Brighton: De Zerbi offers a massively tempting swap deal to Chelsea

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has very big aspirations to turn the club into a force to be reckoned with. Certainly he has been very successful in this mission so far, ensuring the Seagulls have qualified for European football next season. But they need to make some big reinforcements in the transfer window if they are serious about competing again next season.
One player who helped De Zerbi to excellence last season was Levi Colwill. The young English defender was on loan at the Amex Stadium and he made the fans commit a big sin, which was falling in love with a loan player. De Zerbi was also guilty of falling in love with Colwill.
The Italian boss would like to sign Colwill from Chelsea permanently, but it looks unlikely at this point. Chelsea insists that Colwill is not for sale this summer or ever. Mauricio Pochettino has big plans for him and would like to continue his reputation for making the best out of young players.
Brighton want swap deal with Chelsea involving Levi Colwill
The Brighton hierarchy is not the type to back down. Indeed, according to talkSPORT, De Zerbi is lining up a potential swap deal which could convince Chelsea. The report claims that De Zerbi has hinted at a swap deal by which Chelsea could use Colwill as a makeweight to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Unless you live under a rock, you’ll be aware that Mauricio Pochettino is keen to sign Caicedo. In fact, it’s the deal which everyone sees as obvious this summer. However, no significant moves have been made so far. This is partly because Brighton are impossible to negotiate with, but it could also be due to De Zerbi plotting this swap deal for some time.
