Chelsea’s biggest flop FINALLY agrees to sign elsewhere
By Kian Long
This summer is all about player departures for Chelsea. While the superfluous businessman and club owner Todd Boehly will look to sign a few more reinforcements, the focus is on balancing the books by selling players who don’t make the cut.
Speaking of players who don’t make the cut, the top of that list is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. There was no thought process when Chelsea signed the Gabon international and now he is wasting away, draining valuable wage resources. Pochettino certainly has no plans to use him anytime soon, so he should be sold immediately.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang agrees to leave Chelsea for Marseille
Thankfully for Chelsea fans, Auba has agreed personal terms to sign for Olympique Marseille, according to Fabrizio Romano. It is a three year contract which expires in 2023. Given that Chelsea just wants him gone, negotiations between the two clubs are expected to be rather smooth.
Some things just don’t work out, and Aubameyang at Chelsea definitely didn’t. However, there is certainly a prolific goal scorer waiting to be unmasked. We saw at Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Barcelona just how Auba is capable of playing at the highest level. He is a fast attacker who loves to make probing runs and his finishing speaks for itself.
As far as Marseille is concerned, they’ll be signing a striker with proven quality. Under the right management and culture with his teammates, Marseille could be the perfect place for Auba to end his career the way he lived it – scoring a multitude of great goals.
What’s your favourite Aubameyang moment?
