Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t had the best time since he joined Stamford Bridge from Barcelona. Having previously bossed the Premier League with his former club Arsenal, many expected his move to Chelsea to be a successful one but it was far from successful.

With Chelsea hosting a plethora of attacking options, too many to count on one hand, this leaves Auba on the danger zone of not getting any minutes for the rest of the season. Given his disastrous first half against Arsenal recently, that wouldn’t surprise me.

According to the trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, “Aubameyang will 100% leave Chelsea”. It’s thought that his ideal destination is to return to Barcelona, however, time will tell the possibility of this deal. When you consider their bad financial situation, it seems impossible since the only chance this would happen is if Auba takes a pay cut and there’s no transfer fee to pay.

Aubameyang wanted to guarantee his move away from Stamford Bridge in the January window, but it wasn’t to be. This season, the Gabon international has played under three different managers and it’s not worked out for him. It was thought he might get a new lease of life under Lampard, but he’s definitely playing for a move away.

Given his play style, you don’t expect Auba to get involved in too much play. However, he’s a renowned goal machine, so there’s no excuse for his lack of a return. A move back to Barcelona would benefit all parties.
