Steven Gerrard wants to bring Liverpool captain along to Saudi Arabia

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was recently unveiled as the new manager of Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq. Signing a two-year deal in the Middle East, the retired midfielder hopes to continue his good run in management so far.
Having a wonderful eye for the game, particularly what it takes to be a midfielder, Gerrard can’t seem to let go of his love for Liverpool. Despite managing in an entirely new continent, Gerrard would like to turn to his beloved club, in the hopes of utilising their captain Jordan Henderson.
Steven Gerrard wants to sign Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson for Al-Ettifaq
That’s right, according to the Daily Mail, Steven Gerrard has plans to sign both Jordan Henderson and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the Premier League. Auba we know is open to a move since he no longer wants to be a Chelsea player, but it might be harder (even for Gerrard) to convince Henderson.
Henderson has played his entire career in England, but this is not the reason for the complexity. Henderson has two years remaining on his Anfield contract and loving the club as much he does, he is not likely to want to leave.
Jordan Henderson has had many great moments in a Liverpool shirt and he is widely loved at the club. Although, with the new midfielders coming in, it will be even more difficult for Henderson to pick up consistent game time next season. This could work in Gerrard’s favour since at El-Ettifaq, he’d be a sure starter.
Henderson will certainly have eyes on the next European competition with the England national team. Of course, there are players (like Bellingham, for example) who play abroad but still get into the national team consistently. However, playing abroad might complicate matters because he is not in the direct eyeline of Gareth Southgate.
Do you think Al-Ettifaq will sign Jordan Henderson from Liverpool?
