2) Moises Caicedo

Certainly the most premium option on this list is Moises Caicedo. However, this is the calibre of players which Newcastle should be operating in, given their lucrative financial takeover.

Brighton and Hove Albion have recently announced that Moises Caicedo will be up for sale in the summer, given the Ecuadorian’s long-standing desire to leave. While he is linked with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, Newcastle is also a step-up and can offer Caicedo the chance to play in the Champions League next season.

Let it be known, though, that Caicedo is a different player to Phillips. Caicedo is more of a traditional number 6, who likes to operate in a triangle with his two centre backs and receive the ball from deep before either dribbling or more likely, spraying passes out wide.

Caicedo is an excellent midfielder and one who could certainly don the Newcastle jersey, particularly given their defensive excellence.

Now, it’s time for the final option Newcastle should consider. You know the drill, press the button below to find out their third and final Kalvin Phillips alternative.
