Arsenal transfer news – Bayern Munich compete for Declan Rice
Unfortunately, Arsenal fans know all too well that sometimes competition from Bayern Munich is too much. Oh, I don’t mean domestically.
English clubs are put on a pedestal in the transfer market and rightly so. No teams across Europe can compete with the finances which are held in the English top flight – except maybe Bayern Munich. According to Sky Germany, Declan Rice is seen as the dream signing under Thomas Tuchel. However, good news for Arsenal fans is that they’re still the favourites to sign him by some distance.
Arsenal transfer news – Ilkay Gundogan “bigger than” Gabriel Jesus
We reported yesterday that Mikel Arteta was pushing hard to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City. He’ll be a free transfer and captaining the best team in the world, it would only add to the winning mentality which Arteta is trying to instil.
This is why Ally McCoist thinks that Gundogan would be a huge signing for Arsenal, even bigger than Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko (via The Boot Room).
Arsenal transfer news – Arsenal submit their first Declan Rice offer
We finally have something substantial to work with, as Arsenal have submitted their first bid for Declan Rice. They have opened with an initial offer of £70m, according to Sky Germany (via The Boot Room). However, there are complications to this deal.
Firstly, West Ham want much more money. Their asking price is around £120m, so it’s thought there’ll be strict negotiations between the two London clubs. Furthermore, with West Ham reaching the Europa Conference League final, the Hammers will not entertain any negotiations until this is complete.
