Right midfielder: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

We’ve run out of superlatives to describe Kevin De Bruyne. His midfield wizardry has been on display all season as the Belgian leads the Premier League chart for assists made this season with 15. Many of them have come for Haaland as the pair have struck up a devastating on-field partnership while also averaging 3.7 chances created per game.

Central midfielder: Rodri (Manchester City)

Haaland may be taking all the plaudits for his blistering goalscoring exploits but Rodri has quietly had a fabulous campaign of his own. An expert passer with spatial intelligence and prowess in the air, the Spaniard has been key to dictating City’s play while also contributing eight goals of his own, including a stunning goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League a few weeks ago.

Left midfielder: Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)

Martin Odegaard has not only taken on Arsenal’s captaincy role with aplomb, but also flourished into one of the best playmakers in the Premier League this season. His ability to remain calm under pressure is one of the Norwegian’s more underrated attributes. In 31 league games this season, he’s scored 12 goals and made eight assists.
