Erling Haaland is having one of if not the most memorable seasons in Premier League history and he’s not done yet

As of April 17th, Erling Haaland has scored 32 goals in 28 Premier League games. He has tied Mohammed Salah for the most goals in a single 38-game Premier League season. 47 goals in all competitions this season has seen Haaland put himself in a category of goalscoring completely on his own. The way Haaland has been performing this season seems surreal and he has no signs of slowing down.

With just 8 Premier League games left in the season, Erling Haaland needs to score just two goals to equal Andy Cole and Alan Shearer for the most goals in a Premier League season. 3 in 8 to break the record is more than doable for Haaland. At this point, it might be time to start asking how much will he set the record by.

Any sensible fan saw that Erling Haalnd at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola was going to score goals. The amount of people predicting he was going to break the record for most goals in a season is definitely a little smaller. Upon reflection, the banter and uproar from fans after Haaland did not score in the FA Community Shield match against Liverpool seems hilarious in hindsight.

After finishing 11th in the Ballon d’Or rankings last year, Haaland has done more than enough to at least put himself in the conversation to be near the top.

"Pep Guardiola: “I want him to break all the records possible. That means he scores all the goals and he helps us. But I think he wants to win the titles… Excellent as always.”"

Manchester City has been closing in on Arsenal atop of the Premier League, with Erling Haaland being one of the biggest contributors to City’s recent form. Manchester City has not lost a Premier League match since February 5th.

Haaland’s combination of both skill and physicality has become the perfect recipe for scoring at will. Some will say it can be trained while others will say players are born with it… Haaland has even chimed in on how he scores goals for fun.
