As Chelsea are on the hunt for a new manager to take over the club from Graham Potter, many names are being thrown around. For example, yesterday The Top Flight reported that 5 interviews were set to be conducted, including Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Luciano Spalletti.

However, there’s one name who certainly won’t be mentioned. Or at least, he shouldn’t be mentioned, according to Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit. According to the Daily Mail, Petit has explicitly stated that Zinedine Zidane won’t manage in the Premier League anytime soon. This is because he doesn’t speak English and does not want a translator to do his job for him.

Of course, this is a big blow to both Chelsea and Spurs. Both London clubs are on the lookout for new managers after falling short recently. Zidane would be the absolute pinnacle since he’d revitalise both clubs to get them winning silverware. Particularly Chelsea, who come up against his former club Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Still, it doesn’t exactly leave the two clubs short of options. All of Chelsea’s interviews will still go ahead, it just means that Boehly can’t do the unthinkable by bringing Zidane to the Premier League. It would’ve been interesting, though, to see the two best managers in the world (Zidane and Pep) come head to head.

Luis Enrique is in London currently completing his interview. He’s a manager who’s coached some world-class players and had success across Europe.

Whoever the next manager of Chelsea is, fans can hope for two things. The first being they respect the club’s culture and the players he has available to himself. the second being he receives financial backing to sort this squad out, since let’s face it, he’ll be inheriting an absolute mess of which Boehly the person to blame.

Who do you think will take charge at Chelsea?
