Chelsea sacked Graham Potter, which I suppose doesn’t come to anyone. Unless you’ve been living under a tree, you’ll know that Chelsea are in absolutely horrific form and the board, despite owning up to their own mistakes, have pinned it all onto the manager. So now, they’re looking at someone who can come in to replace him, so they have another person to blame when they screw up again.

The Top Flight reported earlier that Julian Nagelsmann was emerging as a contender to replace Potter, but Chelsea aren’t putting all their eggs into one basket. This is probably because Nagelsmann is wanted by Spurs too but let’s face it, when has North London interest ever stopped Todd Boehly?

According to the latest report from the Telegraph, Chelsea want to interview 5 managers about the new opening at Stamford Bridge. The report confirms the interest in Nagelsmann, as well as Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino and Luciano Spalletti. Another manager who, at this point is unknown, will also be interviewed.

I don’t know what’s more surprising, the fact that Boehly is actually being patient, or the fact he’s shortlisted Pochettino. I mean, I know the English media made him seem like a good manager but surely professionals in the sport will take his absent trophy cabinet in England seriously?

He spent years at Spurs coming close but never actually winning anything. If Potter was sacked because the Blues want to return to their glory days, then Pochettino won’t bring anything to that table. Unfortunately, there are some tacticians who aren’t tough enough to push for success, Poch is one of them.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this unfolds. With Spurs also looking to hire someone new, expect to see many tussles between the two rival London clubs in the coming weeks.

Who do you think will manage Chelsea next?
