Arsenal come up against Leeds United at home on Saturday and with one eye on the big fixture between Manchester City and Liverpool, Mikel Arteta hopes that he can take advantage by extending, or at worst, sustaining the gap at the top of the table, which currently holds 8 points.

However, there are some injury concerns that Mikel Arteta must first consider. Ideally, he’d like to field a strong lineup to maximise his chances of success, but this isn’t always possible. We know for certain that Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny will be out of action until the end of the season.

Furthermore, Eddie Nketiah is nearing his return from injury. It’s unlikely he’ll play a big role in this match with Gabriel Jesus back from injury now – if he is ready, which is a stretch in itself, then he’ll only feature from the bench.

However, the Gunners must also consider William Saliba. The crucial defender was out of actions for the Arsenal after going down injured in their Europa League loss to Sporting. It’s a back injury, so he’ll be assessed thoroughly ahead of this match.

Lastly, there is Thomas Partey. Arguably the most important player for Arsenal, he’ll be huge to the end of their season. He’s currently a doubt for this match. Returning from international duties early, he’ll fly back to London today, where he’ll be assessed by the club ahead of the match against Leeds. A source close to Partey said he’ll be fit for Saturday, but this must first be confirmed by the club.

According to FotMob, Arsenal’s injury list is as follows:

  • Takehiro Tomiyasu (Ruled out)
  • Mohamed Elneny (Ruled out)
  • Eddie Nketiah (Ruled out)
  • Thomas Partey (Doubtful)
  • William Saliba (Doubtful)

Which of these players do you think could return for the match against Leeds United?
