Chelsea aren’t the type to rest when it comes to the transfer market. If there’s a player they like, they’ll stop at absolutely nothing to sign him. This has been to their downfall in recent windows since they’ve signed players who have outwardly stated they’d rather sign for Arsenal. However, they’ve learnt from their lesson.

Now, Todd Boehly is in the bargain market. Perhaps he regrets splashing the cash too much, or perhaps he’s attempting to make the club more prudent and strategic. Either option shows a level of maturity and footballing IQ not seen before in Boehly – improvement is good.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto is amassing interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City. It’s thought that Leeds would want at least £26m for his services, but those three clubs are hoping that a Leeds relegation would see that fee dropped.

Ageing at 19 years old, Gnonto is proving to be a great winger for Leeds. He’s direct and confident in his play and has proven to be an absolute asset when coming off the bench. He’s able to take on opposing defenders which makes him the dream for any club.

Of course, Arsenal and Manchester City are battling for the title, while Chelsea are battling in mid-table. Those two clubs have small but tight-knit squads, while Chelsea have a large, out-of-touch squad which doesn’t gel well together. Therefore, you’d hope for the sake of Gnonto’s bright future, he doesn’t join the club which is notorious for ruining young players.

Although, Graham Potter is a great man-manager. If him and Boehly can improve their relationship and Potter is given more a say in how he wants the club to be run, then the project rebuild could get underway next season if Gnonto were to sign.

Where would you like to see Wilfried Gnonto play next season?
