Chelsea’s reckless decision to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk for no other reason than to disrupt Arsenal, has actually worked against them. Not only did they blow all that money on the Ukraine international, but they now face major squad disharmony because no one really knows each other.

No one seems to be saying it how it is – so allow me. Todd Boehly doesn’t really know what he’s doing. He just wants to sign luxury players to sell more shirts which means more money in his back pocket.

While doing this, he is absolutely killing Chelsea as a football club. Even if you’d spent many years training your memory, you wouldn’t be able to memorise every name in the Chelsea squad. Honestly, there are player names I see come up and I can’t even remember if they signed that player in January or the summer. It’s a joke and fans are embarrassed.

Mykhaylo Mudryk was the pinnacle of it all and it’s no fault of the players. He had a lot of hype around his name and it was a very bizarre transfer. Arsenal were interested in him, but Shakhtar used Chelsea to bump up his price until Arsenal noticed how ridiculous the fee was getting and pulled out.

Instead, the Gunners signed Leandro Trossard, who’s proven to be a great player, for much cheaper and haven’t looked back. It’s crazy that a transfer market sees Mudryk, who is 22 years old and only has 9 senior league goals as more expensive than Leandro Trossard who is 28 years old, but has 87 senior league goals.

There’s a high chance that under the right manager, Mudryk will develop into a good player. However, since he was signed, he’s been nothing short of a laughing stock. Not a single goal contribution since he signed and he’s spent more time on the bench than the pitch. Funny that – it’s almost like signing players willy-nilly gets you nowhere.

What do you think about Mykhaylo Mudryk’s signing?
