FIVE Manchester United players may miss FA Cup quarterfinal vs Fulham
By Kian Long
Manchester United are high on confidence at the moment after they progressed through to the next round of the Europa League. However, with no rest for the wicked, Erik ten Hag must be quick in preparing his strategy for the upcoming FA Cup quarterfinal against Fulham, to be played on Sunday.
The Red Devils eye the treble, having already won the Carabao Cup. However, to do so, they face a tough opponent in Fulham. The Cottagers sit 9th in the Premier League table and despite dropping in form lately, will turn up to Sunday’s match full of enthusiasm and eager to progress in the competition.
Therefore, Erik ten Hag must field a strong lineup in order to maximise his team’s chances of progression. With the hefty fixture schedule, this might be made a bit harder and besides, backup options like Fred and Harry Maguire are backup for a reason – Ten Hag doesn’t want to use them more than he necessarily has to.
United’s job might be made that little bit more difficult given their injury concerns. According to FotMob, the Red Devils have FIVE players who could be absent in this quarterfinal.
The players currently on United’s injury list for the Fulham match tomorrow are as follows:
- Donny van de Beek (Long-term injury – Ruled out)
- Christian Eriksen (Mid-term injury – Ruled out)
- Alejandro Garnacho (Mid-term injury – Ruled out)
- Antony (Short-term fever – Doubtful)
- Anthony Martial (Short-term injury – Ruled out)
So, yeah… Not looking good.
Erik ten Hag has been very vocal about his discontent within not having a full squad available to him but this is the nature of the business. When you’re playing as well as Manchester United, the fatigue of playing across multiple competitions creeps up on you.
Do you think Manchester United will overcome injury adversity and beat Fulham?
