Manchester United are searching for a midfielder to sign in the summer transfer window. Fred is their midfielder of choice at the moment, with Casemiro proving a disciplinary liability and Christian Eriksen constantly out with injury. Therefore, Erik ten Hag wants to improve his depth and quality in this area of the pitch, which is understandable given their downfall in recent matches.

Manchester United probably win an award for the shortest lived title race. They were considered up there with rivals City and Arsenal for around a couple of weeks, but soon fell out of the title race following a 7-0 loss to Liverpool and 0-0 draw to Southampton.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are showing an interest in signing another midfielder from Real Madrid. Having already signed Casemiro from the football capital, they want to now bring in Eduardo Camavinga.

Camavinga is setting the world alight with his talent, considered one of the best upcoming midfielders in Europe. So much so, that United’s pursuit could be complicated as Los Blancos don’t want to sell him.

Furthermore, Manchester United aren’t the only side interested in signing the 20-year-old. TalkSPORT revealed in January that Arsenal tried to sign Camavinga, so Mikel Arteta is clearly a fan of the midfielder.

With Arsenal on the hunt for a midfielder in the January transfer window, it would come as no surprise to see the potential Premier League winners plot another ambitious bid for Camavinga. Although, their priority remains Declan Rice, any failed pursuit could see Camavinga as a worthy backup option.

Camavinga would certainly improve Manchester United, so you can understand why Manchester United want to sign him. He’d be an upgrade on Fred, and is showing no signs of being injury prone. With fitness levels high, he’d join Frenkie de Jong on Erik ten Hag’s personal transfer shortlist.

Do you think Manchester United will sign Eduardo Camavinga?
