Liverpool have had their worst season in recent history. The Reds currently sit 7th in the league table – heading into the season, Jurgen Klopp had aspirations of winning the Premier League title. Now, they only have the Champions League to rely on. for silverware According to a report from Fichajes (cited in BBC Sport), Mohamed Salah is willing to leave Anfield if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Currently, they are 9 points behind Spurs who sit in fourth place in the Premier League. Another route to qualify would be winning the UCL this season, but they have to overturn a 2-5 deficit against Real Madrid, at the Bernabeu.

What would losing Mohamed Salah mean to Liverpool?

Having already lost their best player Sadio Mane last summer, it would be catastrophic for Liverpool to lose Mohamed Salah as well. Those two in the front-three would often run rings around opposition, most notably in the Champions League.

Of course, the Reds will get a hefty fee out of Mohamed Salah which could be reinvested into the squad. The Reds are very vocal about their desire to sign Jude Bellingham, for example. Caught Offside has confirmed that Bellingham will sign for Liverpool, with or without Champions League football.

The way in which Liverpool have used their finances in recent years means they must sell big to spend big. Therefore, there are pros and cons to losing Salah. They would almost certainly reinvest every penny back into the squad. However, it’s hard to obtain a player who has the same impact as the proclaimed Egyptian king.

Jurgen Klopp does have options in attack. Let’s not forget, Darwin Nunez is finding form, as is Cody Gakpo. When Roberto Firmino and Luis Diaz find their way back to full match fitness, the depth of Liverpool’s attack will be revealed.

Where do you think Mohamed Salah will go if he leaves Liverpool?
