Liverpool are leaving their competitors in the mud when it comes to Jude Bellingham.

After being England’s best player throughout their World Cup run, Jude Bellingham is on everybody’s Christmas list. With that being said, Liverpool will have to fight off a lot of competition to get their man in the transfer window.

According to a new report from the Mirror, Liverpool remain confident they will sign Jude Bellingham in the summer, when he is allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund. It is thought that previous owners FSG are keeping their promise to Jurgen Klopp, and will help the club to sign Bellingham as a parting gift.

There is no wonder Jude Bellingham is so high on the wish list for Liverpool. Playing alongside Jordan Henderson at the FIFA World Cup, the two formed an unlikely relationship. It seems like a midfield pairing of Henderson and Bellingham just works, as they bring the best out of each other both from a defensive and attacking point of view.

Bellingham is in many pundits’ team of the tournament but it comes as no surprise. Ever since he scored in England’s opener against Iran, it was clear he was a favourite of the nation. Ageing at just 19 years old too, he has a bright future ahead of him.

Already proving himself on the biggest stage of them all, he would be a fabulous addition as the Merseyside club aim to rebuild after a disappointing start to the season.

The transfer could not come at a better time either. It is clear Liverpool’s midfield will be a key focus in the transfer window as they lack options there but further contract expirations could force Klopp’s attention. Do not get it twisted, though – while Bellingham would certainly benefit Liverpool short-term, he is a long-term signing.

Next. Nothing but praise for Liverpool's new man in charge. dark
