According to the latest from Charles Watt on Twitter, Arsenal will be without Thomas Partey for this evening’s important Manchester City clash. The news means that it’s a “big night for Jorginho”, who is the most likely player to start.

This is, of course, a MASSIVE blow for Arsenal. While it doesn’t necessarily swing the game in either team’s favour, to be without Partey could be telling for Arsenal. He has been their most important player in the midfield this season. So much so, that when the Gunners have been without him they oftentimes look like a struggling side.

The midfield battle will be an interesting one tonight and could dictate the result of the game. Manchester City are known to possess an abundance of talent in the midfield, something that Thomas Partey would have been a huge asset to deal with.

Of course, the team news is not yet out. This will be released on Twitter and other social media platforms one hour before the game (6:30pm GMT).

The winner of this game will claim the top spot of the Premier League come the end of the night. Although, Arsenal do have a game in hand on Manchester City. Winning this game would be the best possible outcome for Mikel Arteta, as his side would climb to 6 points clear, with a remaining game in hand. To lose would truly set back their title challenge and a draw would feel like an opportunity wasted.

So, long story short, it’s a must-win game for either side. As the journalist pointed out, it will be a big game for Jorginho but this is exactly why he was signed on deadline day. He will have a big task ahead of him to dictate the midfield play, but he is used to excelling on the big stage.
