Arsenal host Manchester City on Wednesday evening in the Premier League. With the limelight on Champions League action, we mustn’t forget about this match which could be season-defining for both sides competing for the league title.

Let’s see how Mikel Arteta could lineup in this one…

Arsenal’s goalkeeper and defence vs Manchester City

Starting between the sticks, it will obviously be Aaron Ramsdale. Having impressed in some big games before, he will hope for more of the same but it’ll be toughest match yet against either Erling Haaland or Julian Alvarez.

The two centre-backs of choice will be Gabriel and William Saliba. Gabriel has been in exceptional form but Saliba has been a little more… let’s say iffy. Still, Saliba will know the magnitude of his game and hopefully he can step back up to the form he showed in the first half of the season.

Starting on the right-hand side of defence will be Ben White. Despite being in questionable form, I think Arteta will trust him over Tomiyasu in a game as big as this. Then at left-back it will be Oleksandr Zinchenko, the player of the month in January and the guy who will be the most up for playing against his former team.

This lineup continues on the next slide.
