According to the latest report from Fichajes, Liverpool have entered the race to sign Victor Osimhen. Osimhen is subject to a move away from Napoli in the summer, with numerous clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea interested in signing him.

This season, Osimhen has scored a monstrous 17 goals, really returning his 70m euros price tag. The Spanish outlet points to the fact that Osimhen has only signed a contract until 2025, and are working hard to secure a new deal for the Nigerian. However, with big clubs looming, it’s no surprise his head has turned.

Napoli are having a terrific season, their best of the last three decades. They are on track to lift the Serie A title and Osimhen’s goal contributions are largely to be appreciated.

Liverpool are currently undergoing an injury crisis but it’s thought they will spend big in the summer. Having confirmed they want to sell at least one of their biggest players, the club will re-invest that money straight into the summer transfer window.

Osimhen would be an excellent addition to them as they aim to keep up with Manchester City and Arsenal. Osimhen would probably be the other talisman, other than maybe Harry Kane, who could keep up with Erling Haaland’s immense goal scoring attributes.

Liverpool may be under new ownership by this time, with a rumoured financial takeover looming. Also, news broke yesterday that Jurgen Klopp is closer than ever to leaving the club, with Real Madrid proving to be a worthy destination. Both Madrid and Klopp want the move to happen.

Long story short, Osimhen will have many more interested clubs start to crop up. If he is to join Liverpool, the Reds and their new owners will need to splash the cash.
