Chelsea’s reckless spending under Todd Boehly continues. They will hijack another Manchester United signing…

According to the latest from talkSPORT, Chelsea have set up their latest plan to hijack Manchester United transfer target Victor Osimhen. Osimhen is going to be the name of summer, with many clubs lining up to sign the 24-year-old striker.

In 17 appearances this season (76% of those appearances being starts), the Nigerian striker has scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists. This is one of the best returns in European football so far this season, and many dub the Napoli talisman to be world-class.

Chelsea already have an overhaul of new signings from January, particularly attacking players. Therefore, this deal comes across as confusing. However, we know that Boehly has the money to do so and when he wants a player, nothing will stop him.

In fact, many are even accusing Boehly’s transfer plans as a case of “who are they signing? Oh, this guy. That’s who we’ll go for”. It happened with Mykhaylo Mudryk and Arsenal and it happened with Joao Felix and Manchester United.

Now, United will suffer the same fate in summer. Chelsea will need to be more cautious with their spending in summer, as they don’t want to be under investigation alongside Manchester City. This could give United the upper hand, and they certainly need Osimhen more than Chelsea do.

Still, Osimhen is an improvement on the current strikers they have. Kai Havertz is hit and miss, whereas Aubameyang is only miss. There are reports that Auba could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge and taking a flight to play in MLS. Therefore, the Blues see Osimhen as the ideal Auba replacement – he’s younger and much, much better.
