Newcastle United have entered the race to sign this Liverpool target. It could break records…

According to a report from Football Transfers, Newcastle United have now entered the race to sign 19-year-old Jude Bellingham. It’s thought the Magpies will serve as competition to Liverpool, who have made no secret of their desire to sign Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham is one of the hottest prospects in world football and he’s certainly coveted in his home country England. Currently playing abroad for Borussia Dortmund, the midfielder performed to the best of his ability in Qatar for the World Cup, proving to be one of the best young players out there.

Bellingham is certainly going to have a hefty price tag, particularly if he signs for a Premier League club. It was thought that Liverpool would surely be his next move, but given Newcastle’s super-club aspirations, it wouldn’t surprise me if they mounted a serious challenge for him.

Of course, Newcastle are more of a threat than they have been in recent years. They are under new ownership and the new shareholders have made it no secret that they want to splash the cash.

One a proud, working class family club, Newcastle have now become an even prouder financial force in the Premier League. Bellingham will certainly be excited by the prospect, with the Magpies sitting third in the table, 10 points ahead of Liverpool in 9th.

Just like Liverpool starboy Cody Gakpo was the name of the January transfer window, potential Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham will be the name of the summer transfer window. That being said, I’d be a fool to sit here and say that it’ll be a two horse race between the Reds and the Magpies.

Nope, there will be many other European clubs lining up, in the hopes of signing one of the greatest young players in world football currently.
