CDM: Casemiro

Casemiro, alongside another newcomer in Lisandro Martinez, has been the key to this Manchester United resurgence. Some sources close to the player say he has “never been more comfortable or happy in his career.” Somehow, I doubt this, coming from a team where he was a part of 5 Champions League winning sides, winning 18 trophies in total with Real Madrid. One could argue that after years of struggle, United fans have never been happier with a signing in recent years.

He’s been doing the business all season long for the Red Devils and will look to continue doing the same here against Palace.

CM: Marcel Sabitzer

I think the new signing will make his debut for Manchester United this weekend. The Red Devils had the chances last time out against Crystal Palace, but couldn’t put them away. With Eriksen out, Ten Hag will want somebody who can roam a bit deeper than Fernandes but still pull strings and play make if he needs to.

While Sabitzer may be a panic buy with Eriksen out for the foreseeable future, Sabitzer was a smart piece of business from United. He has struggled for game time at Bayern, but before that, his time at Leipzig was immense. I feel in this Manchester United side, he will be a ready replacement, even if not the same type of player, for the Danish international.
