This Liverpool legend did not hold back…
Liverpool are currently undergoing an injury crisis. Ahead of their game against Wolves on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp is confirmed to be without six player – perhaps even a seventh.

There are a number of players with long-term injuries, Arthur Melo being one of them. Brought in on loan in the summer transfer window, everybody expected the transfer to be a hit. However, the Juventus man has had a disappointing time at Anfield, being on the treatment table since October.
Former Liverpool star and current ESPN pundit took a backhanded hit at Arthur Melo recently. Speaking on the signing of Cody Gakpo, he predicted the January addition to be a strong one, unlike the summer addition of Arthur, who Nicol has described as a “complete shambles”.
When you look at this at face value, Nicol is absolutely correct. The business from Liverpool was a complete shambles – they brought in Arthur on loan to cover their injury crisis, only to have the Juventus loanee add to that same injury crisis he was brought in to fix.
Of course, as far as Arthur is concerned, it’s no fault of his own. He didn’t choose to be injured and if anything, he is actively anticipating his return, which is only a couple of weeks away now, according to the Evening Standard. Look, it happens. As frustrating as it is, injuries happen when you play in a physical, competitive sport.
According to Liverpool World, the Reds are set to submit the changes to their Champions League squad, to allow for new additions and in-form players. It’s thought that Arthur Melo will be axed from the squad submission, he has not played enough football to convince Klopp otherwise.
Do you think it’s justified to call Arthur Melo’s time at Liverpool a “complete shambles”?
