Chelsea predicted lineup to host Fulham – Midfield

Chelsea are without Jorginho, as he has completed his move to London rivals Arsenal. Therefore, Graham Potter will have to work out another solution.

He will be helped by the re-addition of N’Golo Kante, who has missed the last six months through injury. The French midfielder has returned to training, however, I don’t think he will start in this match, even if he is fit. It’s good for Potter to have options again, though.

Instead, it will be a midfield pairing of Enzo Fernandez and Mason Mount. It’s rare to see a player given his debut so soon after signing. However, given his quality, Enzo Fernandez simply has to start. The next couple of training sessions will be centred around getting Fernandez in the team and integrating him into Chelsea’s play. Mason Mount will allow for this by being flexible in his position.

As for the wing-backs, they will consist of Marc Cucurella and Reece James. It’s still not confirmed whether he is 100% fit, however, if he is, he will certainly start. As far as wing-backs go in terms of covering both halves, you won’t get a much better pairing than Cucurella and James, both of which cover enough ground to allow for smooth transitional play, while remaining covered in the defensive half.
