3.) Newcastle United – Modern Center-back(s)

Newcastle United currently sits 3rd in the Premier League, something very few would have expected. They underwent some serious change over the summer with their new owners keen to splash their cash and get the Magpies back into the fold of the Premier League’s best.

While their defense right now is doing absolutely incredible, only having allowed 11 goals so far this season, they’re going to want to look towards updating their center backs if they want their success to be sustainable. While the word sustainability might not be too familiar to the new owners, the fans will know that this current pairing of Fabian Schär and Sven Botman probably isn’t the way forward in the long term with the way football has changed in terms of the demands for central defenders.

Manchester United can tell you it isn’t about quantity, but quality players, to have continuous success, something of which they haven’t seen the likes of in a long, long time.

4.) Tottenham Hotspur – A trophy

You knew this was coming. The Audi Cup is not anywhere near significant silverware, and for the group of players that Antonio Conte has with Spurs in the Premier League, they really should be fighting for more than just a Champions League spot. While personally, I don’t like the idea of Spurs winning any real trophy, you’ve got to imagine that’s all their fans have been asking for, year after year when they put their cookies and milk out for Santa.

The never-ending comedic relief and entertainment their club provides is nearly invaluable and is just too fun to poke at. I can hear “Maybe this year will be different” for the thousandth time all the way from my home as the Sad Spurs fans go to sleep on Christmas Eve.
