Christmas is right around the corner, and with it, the Premier League.

Everybody, and I mean everybody, has a wishlist for Christmas, Premier League clubs included. While they may not be able to have everything they want, I wanted to think about what each of the top 6 in the Premier League table might be asking for based on their current situation. Reminder, this is supposed to be fun, don’t take this too literally.

Let’s start from the top.

1.) Arsenal – Blank Check

Even being at the top of the table in the Premier League, there are still things that they will be wishing for come Christmas time. For Arsenal, it’s no secret they still lack the depth, quality depth that is, of title rivals Manchester City. Clearly, these two clubs are operated very differently, but after Gabriel Jesus’ injury that will see him back no earlier than late February, they are left thin in the striker department.

Even for the most optimistic Arsenal fan, putting the weight of a title bid on Eddie Nketiah’s shoulders seems a bit far-fetched if success is what they’re after. A blank check could go a long way toward a Joao Felix or a Mykhailo Mudryk, or both. However unlikely it is, Christmas is a time for miracles, and Mikel Arteta and the fans alike will be wishing upon a star for some January reinforcements.

2.) Manchester City – The Eye of Shangri-la

Erling Haaland has gotten off to a better start than anyone could possibly have dreamt up. 18 goals in 14 games played is simply outrageous, and the Nordic striker is fresh off a month’s rest with Norway missing out on World Cup action. The rest of the Premier League should be ready for a hungry hungry Haaland, gobbling up goals as quickly as he can.

From a Manchester City perspective, the Eye of Shangri-la, and the elixir from the pool of eternal life would be gladly welcomed to assure quick healing from any ailment Haaland has to endure this season (and beyond), and while they’re at it, they should dip a contract into that elixir to make sure he doesn’t leave any time soon (an eternal contract?). I wouldn’t be surprised if there were City representatives on a mission to locate the artifact after it was most recently seen with the O’Connel family.
