Arsenal are looking ahead to the second half of the Premier League season, but they are plagued by looming thoughts of the Gabriel Jesus injury.

Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in this previous summer. During his short stint with the club so far, he has transformed their attacking output and is one of the most underrated signings of the summer.

But the Brazil international picked up an injury while representing his country at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He was one of 10 Gunners to get on the plane but unfortunately for him, his time ended early and he has recently undergone surgery.

It remains unknown how long it will take the Brazilian to recover as it is down to the individual, but players undergoing similar surgeries have been out for a minimum of a month, but could be two or even three.

Who will Arsenal sign to replace Gabriel Jesus?

What the Gunners must avoid is panic buying in January. Yes, Jesus will be a big blow but if Arsenal are going to spend resources on trying to replace him short-term, which isn’t a bad strategy, they must use the same recruitment processes they have used in recent times to secure great signings like they did with Jesus.

According to a report from AS, Arsenal are keen to sign Joao Felix, who has already stated he is open to a new challenge and willing to leave Atletico Madrid in January.

It does not take a genius to come here and tell you how great Joao Felix is. There’s a reason why he is one of the most expensive attackers in the game and is incredibly sought after.

Felix is a versatile forward, which will help the Gunners not just in replacing Gabriel Jesus, but also in terms of adding to their squad depth in different positions. He can play as a left-sided winger also, which will give Gabriel Martinelli a sense of healthy competition in the side, but also means the Brazil winger has plenty to learn from.

Who do you think the Gunners will sign in January?
