Chelsea, of all teams, could be the beneficiaries of Cristiano Ronaldo’s tantrum.

Chelsea have not had a great time of things lately – to put it nicely. The Blues are eighth in the Premier League and without a single win in their last five league games. If there is a fanbase to have shied away from laughing at Manchester United for potentially losing Cristiano Ronaldo, it is the blues.

However, in a complete change of events, it could be Chelsea that actually benefit from the falling out. According to CBS via Express, Chelsea have unfinished business and could go back in to sign Cristiano Ronaldo – the report goes on to state that under Thomas Tuchel, the Blues expressed interest in signing Ronaldo.

I must admit, the move would make perfect sense. Through no fault of the board, Chelsea’s frontline and attacking display have been absolutely abysmal. They look short of options in the final third, despite the big name signings of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling.

With that being said, they could do with the experience of Ronaldo – a player that has been there and done it all at the highest level.

The next transfer window will take place in January, which falls nicely after the World Cup break. It wouldn’t take a genius to predict that Ronaldo will take part in this transfer window in some form or another.

The Top Flight reported earlier that Manchester United were considering a termination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract. As far as Chelsea are concerned, this would be the best case scenario and an absolute no-brainer to make contact with the Portugal international.

The question just remains – where does Cristiano Ronaldo’s loyalties lie? He will argue that the club has betrayed him and that his former teammates have upset him, but the fans have always had his back. It’s a tough one, but interesting viewing for the neutral.
