The Premier League team of the season so far
By Ivan Buss
ST – Harry Kane
Fair warning, this front three are all strikers.
Some might not agree, but Kane’s season has gone under the radar. In 13 matches this season, Kane has been the only consistent light in attack for Spurs with 10 goals and an assist. He’s not exactly the playmaker he was last season, but that’s not his main objective, with Son not on form and Kulusevski injured, his goals have been a massive help to an otherwise uninspiring Spurs side.
ST – Erling Haaland
After his first game, a tough outing in the Community Shield against Liverpool, some opposing fans rushed to conclusions about Haaland’s outlook for his future in England. Any doubts were quickly put to rest about his adaptation period, bagging17 goals and 3 assists. He is gunning for every and any goal-scoring record there is in the Premier League, already breaking records along the way. Haaland’s spot in this side should go without saying.
ST – Alexandar Mitrovic
Mitrovic has been in the top flight before, but not like this season. He has got the monkey off his back, in a way, and has consistently been a threat in an otherwise modest Fulham side. With 9 goals (two away from his highest-ever total in the Premier League), he looks set to prove to himself, and others, he can in fact score in the top flight of English football at a high rate. He and his Fulham teammates will be hoping this form can continue throughout the season.
