1. Diogo Costa (FC Porto):

There are very few players, let alone keepers, who at the age of 22 and adorn the number 1 spot for their boyhood club, whilst also winning 5 trophies.

Very few like the current Portugal and FC Porto number 1, Diogo Costa.

The Portuguese international is one of the brightest goalkeeping prospects in world football. He has previously been linked with moves to Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Newcastle as well.

Costa is impressive coming off his line, being in the top percentiles in Europe for defensive actions outside his area.

Goalkeepers are imperative to the manager’s system nowadays, as the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City are very competent in and out of the transitions to recycle possession with their managers coaching style coming to full effect.

Porto have inserted a £60million release clause in Costa’s contract, which would be a pretty hefty fee but considering the player has immense potential, he could be the long-term successor for De Gea at Manchester United.
