#2) Lack of spine in the midfield

The trouble continues for Manchester United in the middle of the park. Bruno is struggling to find his form while Fred is performing abysmally. The midfielders were unable to keep possession and sustain the pressure needed in the middle of the field. They looked distorted until Scott McTominay came on for the Brazilian.

Four midfielders played in the game for United and only Bruno Fernandes had a key pass to his name. The corners taken by Christian and Bruno weren’t effective. Out of ten crosses, only two crosses were accurate and found another United player. Eriksen had a poor pass completion rate (78.4%) amongst the midfielders.

McTominay was the only one who could assure calmness in the midfield. He won all three tackles that he attempted on the pitch. Christian Eriksen did not attempt a tackle, whereas Fred had only one tackle to his name.
