#1) David de Gea’s poor performance

The biggest letdown from the game was David de Gea. The experienced shot-stopper was a primary reason behind two goals out of the four goals that the Manchester club conceded.

The Spaniard had the easiest save to make for the first goal. The ball found the back of the net after slipping past him. The team was under pressure from that point onwards.

After the final whistle, the player personally requested the official broadcasters to take the interview and apologize. He said:

"I’m just taking my responsibility today. I think I cost three points for my team today to be honest. It was a poor performance from myself.  After the first mistake and second it was tough for the team to keep playing. It was a horrible day.  Maybe you have to read the game better and kick it long. Maybe I shouldn’t have played it to Christian [Eriksen]. They pressed one-against-one. I should have done better (Via: Sky Sports)"

While playing out from the back, David de Gea passed to Christian Eriksen, who was closed down by Mathias Jensen. The Brentford attacker snatched the ball from the Danish international and scored the goal. They doubled their lead with this goal.

The Spaniard was partially involved in the fourth goal as he did not come out of the line to close the counterattack. David de Gea never came out of his line to claim the balls during the corners that mounted the pressure on defenders and midfielders.
