At the start of every season, there are doubts about picking the Egyptian winger but in my opinion, he remains FPL royalty and should still be the first name on the teamsheet.

A case for other midfielders might emerge allowing a potential strategy to move away from Salah but at the start of the season, we’d rather take the obvious and safe pick, rather than take a risk and be chasing from early on in the season.

In terms of numbers, Salah had a league-leading 0.89 xGI per 90. He’s on penalties and is a safe starter. He also had another 200+ season, notched 7.6 points per match, and his fixtures suggest strong captain potential in 4 of the first 6 games.
